Magnify the Lord!
June 1, 2025
Magnifying the Lord means making God's greatness more visible to others through our words, actions, and lifestyle choices. Psalm 34 teaches us to praise God at all times, with our whole being, and together with others. True praise extends beyond Sunday worship to encompass our entire lives - through seeking God in prayer, living righteously, and trusting Him through difficulties. The ultimate form of praise is pointing others to Christ through how we live, demonstrating that authentic worship isn't just what we say about God, but how we live for Him daily.
Faithful: God Keeps His Promises

Jesus addresses worry in the Sermon on the Mount by teaching that worry is both useless and reveals our lack of faith. Using illustrations of birds and wildflowers, He demonstrates God's faithful provision for His creation. The solution isn't simply trying harder not to worry, but redirecting our focus to seeking God's kingdom first. When we trust in God's ability, willingness, and faithfulness to care for us, we can overcome anxiety and experience peace, knowing that the God who secured our eternal salvation will certainly meet our daily needs.

The story of the thief on the cross demonstrates how even the most unlikely individuals can experience profound transformation. Initially mocking Jesus alongside another criminal, this thief had a change of heart, defending Jesus when everyone else abandoned Him. Through genuine repentance and faith, he acknowledged his guilt and recognized Jesus as King. His simple request to be remembered in Christ's kingdom provided comfort to Jesus in His darkest hour. This powerful example reminds us that God can use anyone regardless of their past, and that when we serve others in need, we are ministering to Jesus Himself.
